On the left hand edge of this photo you will see 2357
Demington, one of the firth 3 houses Deming built. Notice that he
built the house before the street was put in! Also, note that 2357
appears with its original full-length front porch.
This house, designed by J.M. Miller for Dr. C.V. Kerr, was
featured in the June, 1916 edition of Ohio Architect, Engineer and Builder.
Included in the feature are several landscape designs by Louis Brandt,
apparently never realized, that interestingly appear to extend well beyond
the rear lot line. We doubt Deming would have allowed such a deviation
to the platting. This house had its original entrance portico altered
at some point.
